THE STORY OF MUSTEFA
Mustefa Abakeno is a small producer with
18 hectares of land near Agaro in the area
from Jimma in western Ethiopia.

Mustefa produces half of these coffees as natural and the other half as washed. Due
of a lack of water in the region and limited space, Mustefa ferments its washed coffees for
a short period (8 hours) before drying them
13-16 days in the sun, which could be similar
to a proceed honey.

Our import partner Falcon Coffees has
a team of agricultural engineers in Addis Ababa
who works directly with small producers
such as Mustefa to increase the quality of their coffees, including picking cherries, drying
and farm management.

In turn, Mustefa helps neighboring producers to improve the quality of their coffee and to offer its export services to help them achieve better profitability from their coffee production.
