REST IN BARREL
This barrel-aged coffee is the result of a close collaboration between the Distillerie de Québec and us.
The coffee from Honduran producer Antoñio Ramirez rested in oak barrels used to mature St-Roc rum . Once roasted, we obtain an exceptional coffee with complex aromas of banana, orange, rum and waffles.
PRICE PAID DIRECTLY TO ANTOÑIO
We paid Antoñio directly with the collaboration of Semilla Coffee $2.65USD/lbs for this batch.
To put this price in context, a producer in Honduras should receive a minimum of $2.00USD/lbs to support himself and his family.
At the time of our purchase in spring 2022, Antoñio would have received $2USD/lbs if he had sold his coffee to regional cooperation and a maximum of $1.60USD/lbs if he had sold his coffee under Fair Trade certification.
