To put this price into context, a grower in El Salvador would need to receive a minimum of $2.00USD/lbs to support himself and his family.

At the time of our purchase in the spring of 2022, Mauricio would have received $2USD/lbs if he had sold his coffee to the regional cooperation and a maximum of $1.70USD/lbs if he had sold his coffee under Fair Trade certification.

MAURICIO AND OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM

Mauricio and I have had a close relationship for four years, and now for three years I have been buying four different batches directly from him to showcase his coffee growing skills.

He managed to finish ten times in the top 25 of the Cup of Excellence, a competition highlighting the best coffees in El Salvador.

He is the fifth generation to take over the reins of family coffee plantations, and the very first generation to embark on specialty production.

Perfectly balanced, packed with lots of sugar and hints of dark cherry, caramel and hazelnut, this batch of Mauricio pairs beautifully with any type of milk. He is your everyday friend and will please everyone.

Cela fait quatre ans que Mauricio et moi entretenons une relation étroite, et maintenant trois ans que j’achète directement de lui quatre différents lots pour mettre de l’avant son talent de caféiculteur.

Il a réussi à terminer dix fois dans le top 25 de la Tasse d’Excellence, une compétition mettant de l’avant les meilleurs cafés au Salvador.

Il est de la cinquième génération à reprendre les rênes des plantations familiales de café, et la toute première génération à se lancer dans la production de spécialité.

Parfaitement balancé, contenant beaucoup de sucre et des notes de tangerine, de caramel et de chocolat au lait, ce lot de Mauricio s’agence à merveille avec tout type de lait. Il est votre ami de tous les jours et saura plaire à tout le monde.
